Who We Are
The Wellstone Democratic Renewal Club is an activist Democratic Party club in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. Come join us — and millions of grassroots Democrats nationwide — in the project to support progressive social movements, elect Democrats to office and advance the causes of peace, freedom, and social justice. Our club is a friendly and engaging community. Activities range from educational forums, candidate endorsements, campaigns on issues, and precinct-walking to picnics and parties. We advocate and mobilize for progressive change right here in our local communities, and we network with other Democratic clubs and activist organizations regionally, statewide, and nationwide to make a difference beyond the Bay Area.
General meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month — except for the months listed at the bottom of this page. We invite you to attend.
Progressive Democrats are rebuilding the Democratic Party from the bottom up – in every Congressional District, every state government, and in the corridors of power in Washington. The Democratic Party can and should speak to the concerns of Americans in every walk of life, of every ethnicity, religion, and sex/gender orientation.
Our Democratic club is named after the late Senator Paul Wellstone and his wife Sheila Wellstone. They were tireless and effective organizers for labor rights, the environment, universal health care, campaign finance reform, and peace.
