Bring guests, and enjoy the holiday season with the Club.
Debbie and Vince will start the ball rolling, but we should all bring something to share – drinks, finger food or something more substantial. Anything you bring to share will be gladly eaten.

A Presentation on Thomas Piketty’s Book
“Capital in the Twenty-First Century”
by Ramsey Thomas
retired Economics Teacher from Lafayette HS
Ramsey worked all summer with other economists to develop a presentation that addresses the main points in Piketty’s “Capital”. He made this presentation to the Wellstone Club at our November 20 meeting.
We are looking forward to the struggles of the new year. Our members and the club are significant factors in Prop 13 reform, support for community based renewable energy generation, opposition to fracking, support for minimum wage increases, and a progressive foreign policy.
We are looking for productive ways of engaging this latest upsurge of young people, sparked by the institutionalized racism that led to the deaths of unarmed Black men at the hands of the police.
The Wellstone Club occupies a unique place in the politics of the East Bay. We serve as a bridge between the organized politics of government and party and the issue oriented movements that are directly involved with the grassroots efforts for social change.
Let’s continue our efforts in the New Year.
