Members in good standing will be able to vote on the Club’s official endorsements for Secretary of State (currently Debra Bowen) and for Assemblymember in the 15th District (currently held by Nancy Skinner, who is serving the last of her 12-year term limit).
We will hear from these candidates or representatives from their campaigns:
|Sec. State||15th AD|
The top two vote-getters will run-off in November 2014.
Since term limits have been modified, the winner in this election can be in the Assembly for 12 years. So this is a very important race in one of the most progressive districts in California.
Rank-Choice Voting, per by-law changes enacted November 21, 2013.
Each member rank the candidates by preference (first, second, third, fourth, or none). The candidate with the lowest number of votes will be dropped and those ballots distributed according to second choice. This will continue until a candidate receives 55% of the vote, otherwise there will be NO Endorsement.
