Heather Booth is the most influential person you may have never heard of. She is a renowned organizer and activist, began her remarkable career at the height of the Civil Rights movement. Through her life and work this inspiring film explores many of the most pivotal moments in progressive movements that altered our history over the last fifty years.

As part of Women’s History Month, Democracy Labs is sponsoring a screening of the documentary film “Heather Booth: Changing the World” by award-winning filmmaker Lilly Rivlin. Heather will share her thoughts will be followed by a question & answer session with Heather. At a time when many are wondering how to make their voices heard, when civil and women’s rights are under attack, this empowering documentary is an inspiring look at how social change happens.

All proceeds from this screening support the Midwest Academy, a non-profit that Heather founded in 1973. This national training institute advances the struggle for social, economic, and racial justice. It has trained over 25,000 grassroots activists from hundreds of organizations and coalitions.
